AMC Downtown Disney 24 Theater adds dining

Yes, that's right, the new rage in movie watching is to eat your meals while watching your movie. In fact some theaters are now including full menu restaurants in the theaters.

On May 16, 6 of the theaters at the AMC Downtown Disney 24 will feature in seat dining. The theaters will have reserved seating and serve, in addition to the food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Menu items will include things like quesadillas, burgers, flatbread pizzas, grilled sandwiches, house specialties, as well as appetizers and desserts. Prices will range from $6 to $12 in addition to the movie entrance fee of $6 to $12.


Each reserved seat will have a call button that will summon a server to your seat to take and deliver your order.

In addition to the dine-in movie theaters the full menu of food and drinks will be available at MacGuffins Bar and Lounge which will be located inside the AMC Downtown Disney 24.

Disney Dad,

There is a theatre in Anchorage, AK where my wife is from that does the same thing - well kinda. The difference is that in Alaska you order your food like you order popcorn and soda at a regular theatre... but instead you order pizzas, nachos, and burritos/tacos. They give you orange cones with your number on reflective 3M tape and away you go to find your perfect seat.

I have to admit that when my wife first told me about it I was't so sure about it, but after experiencing it for the first time, it was always my first choice for going to the movies. The only way I could imagine it being better is if Disney adds their flare to it.
