The best time to visit Disney World is October. No that's not a question, but a statement. That's Dad's opinion and he's sticking to it. October is the best time of the year to plan your vacation to Walt Disney World.

Why is October the best time to visit? Mmmm? Let me see. No it's not because that's when Dad visited last year. October is so good because of what happens. What happens in October? Let's see ... Oh, yeah, my sisters birthday (which does happen to be on Halloween). Which reminds me the big things in October are Ghosts, Goblins, Parties and some really great food. Yum Yum.

Best Time To Visit

October is the best time to visit Disney World. That's the truth. You might want to avoid second weekend of the month, but the rest of the month is pretty special. There are some months that have some special times, if you can't come in October. You might one to check out one of the other months.

Crowds

When it comes to crowds, October is special. Most of the days are pretty light unbusy days. There are a few days that you will absolutely want to avoid because there will wall to wall people. The weekends tend to bring heavier crowds especially at Epcot where the locals show up for the Food and Wine Festival.

I do really suggest you avoid the second weekend of the month . The rest of the month is just about "Perfect".

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

Ghost and goblins come out to celebrate Halloween in the Magic Kingdom. Small children have no need to fear, this party is not so scary. Micky and his friends dress up in Halloween costumes and dance around to fun music.

The highlight of the night is Mickey's Boo to You Parade in Frontierland and the special show, Happy HalloWishes at 9:30 p.m. Dance parties are held several times through out the evening.

Tickets for this event go on sale in the beginning of May.

Epcot's International Food and Wine Festival

Every year for the past 20 years Epcot has been home to the International Food and Wine Festival. Vendors and chefs from all over the world bring the best taste to guests. Guests can expect great food and drink from countries around the globe.

HGTV experts come in and host seminars on the weekends. Weekends also bring amazing Eat to the Beat concert series. Big bands come in and play a concert to guests in the American Gardens Theater. Epcot's International Food and Wine Festival has something for everyone.

Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 10-Miler Weekend

Run Disney has a brand new race in October. It's a Twighlight Zone kinda run, in fact it's a full weekend of running fun and thrills. There are activites for all ages.

The weekend starts with a 10 mile race through the streets of Disney Hollywood Studios and ends with a big party at the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. Party all night long with some of the best Disney Villians of all times. In between there's a 5K and a bunch of races for the younger set.

Prices

October is the start of the highest prices of the year. t "So Dad, why is the best time to visit Disney World October if the prices are so high?" That's a good question. The answer is ...

Since it is the start of the holiday season, the prices will continue to go up as the holidays get closer. That makes October look cheap in comparison to December.

If you are looking for a "Perfect" vacation, you'll probably need some professional help. That's why Dad has teamed up with the Disney Vacation Planners over at Destinations to Travel. They can help you plan a Magical Vacation experience.

Weather

The best time to visit Disney World is December because of the weather. The weather in Orlando in October can be spectacular, but it can also be a bit warm. When we were there the highs were still in the mid 90's which was pretty uncomfortable. Granted it was unusually warm, but still ...

The average low in October is 65ºF (29ºC). The average high is 85ºF (19ºC). That weather is perfect for the parks. In the evening you might want to have a light jacket. Another added bonus is there is not much rainfall in October.
