Dine in Downtown Disney.

Hi Dad!
Great blog...thanks for all the great tips.
We just booked for 2 days in November and are staying at the "Disney" Holiday Inn. How expensive is it to dine in Downtown Disney? We are not driving so we're limited with our options on where to eat.
Thanks,
JK

Dad's more expensive than it used to be Answer
Jay,Unfortunately, it's more expensive to dine at Downtown Disney than it used to be. For years, there was a McDonalds at Downtown Disney. A couple of years ago, Disney replace McDonalds with Pollo Campero. Dad visited Pollo Campero earlier this year. It's wasn't the best experience I've ever had. (Check out Dad's Pollo Campero experience here.)
There are some less expensive options to dine in at Downtown Disney. Here's a list of some fairly good and comparatively inexpensive options. (Under $10 per person)
- Earl of Sandwich
- Wolfgang Puck Express
- Food Quest (inside Disney Quest)
- Fresh A-Peel
- T-rex
- Rainforest Cafe
- Planet Hollywood
Even with all of those choices, I wish Disney would bring back McDonalds. This health food kick that Disney is on is driving me nuts. Give me a choice but don't force me by putting wheat buns on all the hamburgers and hot dogs (even at Casey's Corner). I'm an adult and if I choose to eat white buns or if I like McDonalds that's my choice. One of these days Disney's going to go too far.
Yes, I know it's healthier, but I don't go on vacation to be healthy. Changing McDonalds for Pollo Campero may be healthier but it has to be losing someone a ton of money.

Dad's Bottom Line
Jay, enough of Dad's editorializing ... You'll have plenty of reasonably priced restaurants to choose from to dine in at Downtown Disney. Some are even pretty good. Enjoy the trip.
