Cinema Hall

The Cinema Hall of the All Star Movies Resort is the main gathering area of the resort. This is where you go to check-in, check-out, eat meals, shop, go to the arcade, ask questions and lots more.

The front desk counter can check in several families at the same time. There is also a guest services area where guest make check dining reservations, upgrade tickets, get park questions answered and much more.

Dining

If you are looking for quality fine dining, you'll have to go elsewhere. The World Premier Food Court in the Cinema Hall has fast food. Fast. Breakfast is pretty good, but the lunch and dinner have offerings that range from salads, to pizza to hamburgers and hot dogs.

Shopping

Donald's Double Feature is the shopping area. This is where you can find All Star Movies Resort branded merchandise along with the usual Disney themed souvenirs.

Shop till you drop.

Pools

The All Star Movies Resort has two heated pools. A hockey rink themed pool is in the Mighty Ducks area. The Fantasia area has a pool where Sorcerer Mickey directs a liquid symphony including shooting water.

There is a kiddie area near the Fantasia pool.

Lifeguards are on duty from 9:00am until 10:00pm. They even are known to break out into a dance every once and a while.

The lifeguards at all of the Disney Resorts pools perform to the music several times a day

The pools are a great place for kids to burn off that last burst of energy before going to bed. Our teenagers loved the freedom of getting away from the parents and going out to the pool, even after a full day in the parks. We parents loved the fact that we could walk out the door and look down and see the kids.

Everything else

Arcade

Inside Cinema Hall there is a great arcade. There are lots of video games, prize winning games and fun for the whole family. (We always give the kids some discretionary money and most of it ends up here.)

Bar

Outside of the CInema Hall you'll find the Silver Screen Spirits Pool Bar where you can purchase snacks and drinks (adult drinks available). (Open seasonally.)

Laundry

There are 2 laundry rooms available (isn't Disney thoughtful). Oddly enough, they are next to the pools. Bring lots of quarters and a bathing suit, or at least a good book.

In the laundry rooms there are several washers and dryers, and a dispensing area where you can buy supplies.

Child Care

There is no dedicated child care at the All Star Movies Resort. There are several child care services you can choose from. Here are just a couple that have good reputations

  • Kid's Night Out - In room childcare starting at $16.00 per hour
  • All About Kids - In room or in park childcare starting at $13.00 per hour.
  • Super SItters - In room or accompany to park childcare starting at $14.00 per hour

Dad's Bottom Line

For the price, the All Star Movies and the other Value Resorts can't be beat. The food court is fantastic. The pools are large and clean. The All Star Resorts are a lot of fun.

One note of caution - the All Star Resorts cater to large groups, sometimes those groups are not well chaperoned.
