Disney World in either October or November
by Peggy
(Nova Scotia)
My husband and I had our 1st Disney World trip in December 2010 and was amazed. We are planning to go back to Disney World in either October or November this year 2011 and I have researched to death the pros and cons of these 2 months.
Two of the main things we are taking into consideration is weather and crowds. A week goes by so fast that I want to try to go when it is not rainy and worry about hurricane season. I know there are many bonus in going at either time....but weather and crowds are our most concerns.
We were thinking between October 12 - 26th or Nov. 12 - 26. This was our first trip ever and we do not travel so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as we have to make reservations soon.

Dad's it doesn't really matter Answer
Peggy,Thanks for the question. I'm sorry it took me so long to get too it.
Dad's been talking a lot lately about the best time to visit Walt Disney World. In fact he just had a blog posting yesterday that gave honorable mention to the first part of November as the best time to visit.

When it comes to mid-October and the first of November, there is not a big difference in crowds or weather at Disney World. The only real difference is that in November you'll get to see the Christmas decorations again versus the Halloween decorations (only in the Magic Kingdom) in October.Dad's Christmas at Disney World page
Oh, yes. If you go during October, you'll get to see the International Food and Wine Festival in Epcot, so if you are real big foodies then go in October.Dad's International Food and Wine Festival page
You might go to Touringplans.com and check out what they say about the difference in daily crowds for the two months, but if you've already researched it to death, you probably have done that.Dad's Touringplans.com page

Dad's Bottom Line
Peggy, I actually thought I'd already answered this question a few days ago, so I'm sorry for the delay. If it were me, I'd go in November. I love Christmas at Disney World. It's also further from hurricane season. However if you are really into fine cuisine go in October and enjoy the Food and Wine Festival.
PS. Wait until the BIG announcement Sunday to book your trip. It will be worth it.
