Disney World vacation in December
Hi, i scheduled my Disney World vacation on December 9, 2010 for 6 nights figuring this will be a great time to go before the "large crowds". It appears by your write up this year that the crowds will be large this year due to cheerleading?
I have gone 7 times before, 5 all in the 1st two weeks of dec and it has been awesome. I'm a little nervous this year. Also, i have always stayed in the moderate or deluxe hotels, this year I booked in the pop century. Any comments about this?? Thanks for your time.
Dad's don't worry, be happy Answer
You are correct, crowds at Disney World in December are fairly light until around the 20th. The Pop Warner Football Championships and Cheerleading competition are held the first full week of December. This has been going on for several years. Here's what Dad's said about the first week of December.
It's Dad's opinion that Pop Warner isn't much of a factor anywhere but at the All Star Resorts. You should be fine at the Pop Century. You might see some extra traffic in the parks in evenings, but nothing to worry about.
Dad's Bottom Line
Andie, if you've been to Disney World in the last 10 years during the first week of December, you've experienced the Pop Warner Football/Cheerleader crowd. So, relax and enjoy. Make sure to come back and tell us how it was.
