Old Port Royale is located at the center of Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. It's also the heartbeat of the resort. It's where you'll find food and fun. Everywhere you look around the resort, you'll see perfect white sand beaches, hammocks and all kinds of water activities. In fact each of the villages has its own pool, but you won't want to miss the one outside Old Port Royale.

Old Port Royale
The Old Port Royale is a unique building. The roof is painted and lighted to look like a sky. Inside the different shops are designed to look like building in a island town square. In the square you'll find the food court, Shutters, the souvenir shop and even a merchantile where you can buy staples for your room.Dining
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort has two options when it comes to dining. Shutters restaurant is open for dinner. It serves a limited menu featuring ribs, chicken and steak. The other option is the Old Port Royale Food Court which has five "stations" where you can pick up your food and eat in the large seating area or even outside. The pool bar called Banana Cabana (cute) only serves drinks.
Shopping
The Calypso Trading Post and Straw Market sells all kinds of Disney sportswear, groceries, snacks, souvenirs and other nick nacks you see at all the other gift shops around.
Shop till you drop.
Pools
Each of the villages has a pool, and at Old Port Royale, there is a large pool with a pirate theme (wonder why that is?). That brings the number of pools at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort to 9. NINE pools. That's incredible. All those pools and a lake too. Each of the pools are heated and are warm enough to swim in even when it's cold outside. (We've seen adults in the pools when the temperature was just above freezing.)
Lifeguards are on duty during posted operating hours. Officially pools are open seasonally, which means when it gets cold, the lifeguards go inside.

Everything else
The Marina
At Barefoot Bay Marina you can rent boats, bikes, sailboats, canoes and much more. Sail the lake in an 8 person pontoon boat or rent a personal speed boat (SeaRaycer) and kick up some waves. SeaRaycers can be driven by anyone 16 or above. (Disney had some problems with serious accidents and raised the driving age a couple of years ago.)
There is a promenade around the lake for bicycles. It's almost a mile and a half long. You must be 18 to rent bicycles. There's even a 2 seater for a romantic ride.
The Beach
There are several nice white sand beaches around the resort. The one in the Barbados area has a beach volleyball court. Volleyballs are available at the Marina Building.
Arcade
Inside Old Port Royale there is an arcade (Disney put one in every hotel.) Put you money in and take your chances.
Laundry
Each village has laundry facilities in one of the buildings. Consult your resort map to find the nearest. The laundry rooms have several washers and dryers, and a dispensing area where you can buy supplies.
Child Care
There is no dedicated child care at the All Star Movies Resort. There are several child care services you can choose from. Here are just a couple that have good reputations
- All About Kids - In room or in park childcare starting at $13.00 per hour.
- Super SItters - In room or accompany to park childcare starting at $14.00 per hour

Dad's Bottom Line
There is a lot to do at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. You could probably have a full vacation here and never leave the hotel. But, that would be silly.
