FantasyLand Expansion

So our next Disney Vacation can't wait until 2013. I have moved it up to September of 2012. I know that it is suppose to open up in phases. Do you think that the Beauty and The Beast part of the Fantasyland Expansion will be open by then?

Dad's the plan is Answer

Terri, (my favorite name in the whole wide world, right dear?)

Dad's been following the Fantasyland Upgrade or Expansion or whatever you want to call it since it was first announced in 2009.

(See Dad's announcement of the upgrade.)

Through the months that followed Disney has made some interesting changes. Early this year they announced the current configuration that consolidated the Princess meet and greets and added the Seven Dwarfs Roller Coaster. (They needed to make the new digs a bit more "man friendly". My words not theirs.)

(Dad talks about the changes to the Fantasyland Epxansion.)

Finally a couple of weeks ago at the D23 expo some new photographs (artists sketches) were released and a time line was announced for the project openings. You can see all the information at ...

Dad's Fantasyland Upgrade page

You'll find the timeline there. Be our Guest is pretty iffy for September. If you were going later in the year, I'd think you'd have a good chance. You never know with Disney. Sometimes they get ahead of schedule (most of the time it goes the other way).

Dad's Bottom Line

Terri, even if the Beauty and the Beast section is not open, you should still see some amazing changes. The Princess told me a whole new mountain was emerging behind Cinderella Castle. It will certainly be different.
