New Years Eve at Walt Disney World
Does Dad have any recommendations about how we should spend New Years Eve at Walt Disney World?
Dad's Careful Answer
Thanks for a great question. How to spend New Years Eve at Disney World. That's a toughy. We've been at Disney World on Christmas Day and New Years Day, but we've never experienced New Years Eve. From what I hear it's going to be (in the immortal words of my buddy Pam from Texas
) Wickedly Crowded.
So how to spend a day at Disney World when it is wickedly crowded?
Start early. From accounts I've read even Epcot will close to new guests by 5:00 pm. The Magic Kingdom will be a zoo all day. You'll have to use FastPass to ride any of the major rides.
Eat meals at off times like 3 pm. That's also a real good time to take a long break and rest.
Scope out your fireworks watching place early. It's been reported that the best spots are taken by 5:00 pm (that's pretty early for a midnight show).
Lastly, relax and have fun. Yes, it will be crowded, but what can you do? Me, I'll be watching you on TV.
