Parking at Disney World

Parking at Disney World

by Janet

We are going to Disney World in two weeks and staying off property. Is there a way to get to the parks without having to pay for parking every day?

Dad's yes, but it's not really practical Answer

Great question. Paying $16.00 per day for parking at Walt Disney World is a bit outrageous. So can you park somewhere and use Disney Transportation to the parks?

Yes, you can park at Downtown Disney and take a Disney bus. The only problem is, you can't go directly from Downtown Disney to the parks. You'll have to go to one of the Disney hotels and transfer buses to one of the park buses. It will take at least 45 minutes each way.

Disney used to run buses from Downtown Disney to the parks, but quit years ago when the figured out that people were parking for free and riding the buses to the parks.

So the answer is yes, but it doesn't work very well.

Check out Dad's experience with just riding a bus to and from Downtown Disney.

Can I park at magic kindom, leave for a couple hours and come back to the MK and park and not pay a another parking fee.

Dad's all day answer

Keep your receipt. The parking fee is one time per day and it works in all the WDW parking lots. You could park at the Magic Kingdom in the morning and Animal Kingdom in the afternoon, then to Epcot in the evening.
