Restaurants - Chef Mickey's

Hi! We are planning our first trip to Walt Disney World in May 2011! We are so excited and have found your website to be so helpful! I had a few questions about dining. I already made Advanced Dining Reservations at Cinderella's Royal Table for breakfast and also at 50's cafe in Disney Hollywood Studios. I'd like your opinion on whether or not we should do Chef Mickey's. Our children are ages 9, 6 & 3. It seems pricey and I just wanted to see if it's worth the expense or not before making reservations. But I also don't want to miss it if it's a must do. I've read mixed reviews, so that didn't help much. :)
Also, what do you know about the crowds in May? We will be there the 7-14th.
Thanks so much!

Dad's love the big mouse Answer

Several years ago we took the whole clan to Chef Mickey's restaurant. Yep, the whole clan, Dad, Mrs. Mom, our kids, Mrs. Mom's mom and dad, Mrs. Mom's sisters and their husbands and their kids. There were 15 in all.

Going to a buffet with 15 is a really good idea. Usually everyone can find something they like. We found the food (breakfast) to be quite good. The service was outstanding, we had no complaints.

I do want to stress, we only ate breakfast. How hard is it to mess up breakfast?

Dad's Bottom Line

For Disney, the prices aren't too terrible, because you can eat all you want and more. You can sample anything that looks interesting. If you like buffet food you'll probably like Chef Mickey's.
