Sci Fi Dine In

The Sci Fi Dine In is one of the most unique places to eat in all of Disney World. Step back in time jump in the car (provided) and grab some grub. This one will bring back some memories.

 

 

When you walk into the theater, oops, I mean, restaurant, you find you are in a "1950's" drive in complete with clips from old Sci Fi movies. The clips end up being hilarious. You take a seat in one of the 6 seat "cars" and watch the movies.

Warning

The food at the diner routinely gets bad reviews. Sorry, but it's true. The hamburgers and shakes are good, but the more exotic meals don't match the surroundings. (It has gotten better with the new menu.)

 

Also, some children may find the movies disturbing.

The All American Picnic Burger

Location

It is located in Disney Hollywood Studios at the intersection of Commissary Lane and Street of America Boulevard. It's a bit tucked away, but the easiest way to find is to come out of the Star Tours Gift Shop and look over to the left.

Hours

It's open for lunch and dinner everyday usually from 11 am until the just before the park closes. Lunch is served from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.

In 2011 the Lunch and Dinner menus were combined. There is just one menu for all day.

You can make Advanced Dining Reservation 180 days prior to your arrival. This restaurant reservations are required most of the year. These can be made online at Disney's Dining Reservations or by calling 407-WDW-DINE.

Fun Facts

Here are some Fun Facts -

• Servers will usually address the person in the front left seat as the driver and other guests as hitchhikers and suggest they chip in for gas money.
• The "movie" loops every 30 minutes or so and has been the same since the restaurant opened.
• The license plates all have 3 initials taken from the names of the Imagineers that worked on the restaurant. The 6 numbers might be the corresponding birthdays.
