Walt Disney World Basics
Some of my friends suggested I might want to talk about Walt Disney World Basics. I think it's a good idea. Some times I forget that not everyone is a Disney nut like Dad.
This page will take a look at basic information that is essential to know for everyone that visits the Most Magical Place on Earth. We'll look at everything from the difference between Walt Disney World and Disneyland to how Magic Your Way Tickets work. Are you ready?
Walt Disney World
Disneyland vs. Walt Disney World
Disneyland, Walt Disney World, what's the difference. Aren't they both the same?
The first of the Walt Disney World Basics to understand is that all of the Disney parks around the world are different. Disneyland is located in Anahiem California and is the original park Uncle Walt himself designed and built. Walt Disney World is located in Orlando Florida.
Although Disneyland is the original it is much smaller than it's younger brother. Disneyland's 2 theme parks cover less than 100 acres. Together they are smaller than each of the 4 Walt Disney World theme parks. The Disneyland Resort has 3 hotels, the Walt Disney World Resort has 26. Disneyland has 2 parks and a small entertainment area (Disney Springs). Walt Disney World has 4 theme parks, 2 water parks, 2 entertainment areas (Disney Springs and the Boardwalk).

Location - Orlando Florida
Walt Disney World is "located" in Orlando Florida. That's not technically true. The nearest big town is Orlando, but WDW is actually in Lake Buena Vista Florida a town created by Disney for the purpose of overseeing the complex.
Dad's Bottom Line
For a quick meal this is not the worst you'll get at Disney World. Disney World pizza is OK, but nothing special.
