Which Disney World restaurant to see Wishes?

Hey Dad, which is the best Disney World restaurant to see Wishes from?

We're going to be at WDW from 7/3 to 7/10 this summer of 2010. It will be exactly 10 years from the last time we were all there so I want to make it special. Since we're coming in on 7/3, I need to plan a late dinner and want to see the fireworks without going to Magic Kingdom. I've seen that the California Grill at Contemporary resort is pricey but has a great view. I know you like 'Ohana at Polynesian, and that was one of my choices, but don't know if we'll be able to see the fireworks. Which would you recommend?

Also, on July 4th, I'm thinking of going to the Hollywood studios that day to see the special fireworks show, then a Fantasmic Dinner Package.

Lastly, what restaurant would you recommend at the Downtown Disney area? thanks so much for your advice.

Dad's Wishful Answer

Cathy,

Thanks for the question about which Disney World restaurant is the best to see Wishes from. Yes, Dad prefers 'Ohana. The view is good from 'Ohana and the angle is much better than from the California Grill. You are basically looking right down Main Street, so the show looks like it's supposed to. From the Contemporary everything is skewed. If you get through at 'Ohana early, you can always just walk out and grab a deck chair and watch the show from the beach.

I think your plan for the 4th is good.

For a restaurant at Downtown Disney, I got to eat at Fulton's Crab House this summer. It's was great food and a good time. It's not great for little kids. If you have little kids, I'd suggest the Rainforest Cafe or T-Rex.
