Why Dad doesn't ride Kali River Rapids

Kali River Rapids is one of the few rides that doesn't go round and round that Dad won't ride. Why?
It was our first trip to Disney World at Christmas time. (We love going to Disney World at Christmas time). It was our daughter's birthday. We had tickets to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Everything was perfect.
The plane arrived on time. The hotel room was ready. We got to the party just as the evening started. Everything was perfect. Almost ...
It was raining. Not hard. Just a gentle Florida winter rain. It wasn't raining hard enough to shut the park down, and Dad has spent a billion dollars or so on tickets so we were going to have fun. We did, but we got very wet even with those lovely yellow Mickey ponchos on.
That night we tried to dry out our shoes. Have you ever tried to walk around Disney World in wet shoes? The next day, it rained. It rained all day. Not hard. Just a gentle Florida winter rain. It wasn't raining hard enough to shut the park down, and Dad was determined for the family to have fun. After all we had spent about a billion dollars to make this trip.
That night we tried to dry out our shoes. Have you ever tried to walk around Disney World with wet shoes on? It inhales with great force. (Yes, this is a family site.) Our feet were starting to shrivel up. The next day we got up to go to the park and guess what? Yep, you're right. It rained. It rained almost all day. Just a gentle Florida winter rain. It wasn't raining all that hard, just enough to be annoying. I was starting to get mmmm, what's the word? Let's just say ... (Oh, let's not.)
Finally the afternoon of the third day, (yes, Noah, I know, you waited 120 days, but you weren't at Disney World) the sun came out and dried up all the rain, and the itsy bitsy spider climbed up ...
You know how long it takes tennis shoes to dry after they are soaking wet? About the length of the rest of the trip.
I don't like getting my feet wet at Disney World especially in December.
