Am I eligible for Disney Military Salute tickets?

Am I eligible for Disney Military Salute tickets?

***UPDATE!!!!***

The information below is incorrect. I misread a page that had information about who was eligible. Retired members are not eligible for the Military Salute Tickets but there are some Disney Tickets available through Shades of Green. They will offer a discount off the standard Magic Your Way Tickets.

Can I get discounted tickets if I am a Disney Movie Club member, or can I get discounted tickets if my husband is prior military but did not retire from the service? He was in the service six years and then left with an honorable discharge. Please let me know as we go the third week in April.

Cindy, first, thank you. Thank you for your service, I know you weren't in the service, your husband was, but it affects the families too. Thank your husband for his service. We really appreciate that. Thank you for your sacrifice, letting him go serve.

The answer to your question is yes, you are eligible. I know a lot of things say that only active duty and retired are eligible for the Disney Military Salute Tickets. They leave out the part of honorably discharged. Active duty, honorably discharge, retired service members are all eligible for the military discount.

The Military Salute is the name of the ticket that Disney offers and it's a really, really good deal.
To get your tickets, you need to get in touch with the nearest base military travel office. They have the tickets, and they'll be able to sell you tickets. That's the best way to go.

If you want a place to stay while you're down there, Shades of Green is a great option for retired, honorably discharged, and active duty military members.

Disney does a good job of honoring our military.

Dad's Bottom Line

The bottom line is, no, the Disney Movie Club won't offer you any discounts, sorry. And yes, your husband is eligible for the Disney Military Salute. You can get tickets for the family through your local military base ticket office. Again, thank him and thank you for you service and your sacrifice.

Veteran not retired or disabled discounts
by: Gary Schneider

From my searching, it appears that a non-retired and non-disabled veteran can get the discounted tickets for the length of stay at a Disney resort. This is not the stars and stripes discount, only the discount that is offered on the regular park tickets. This stay is only available for the months of January and September for 2019 at Shades of Green resort.

Does a gold star wife get discounted tickets?

Dad Answers

If you are not remarried, then yes. Once you remarry that goes away.

Military vet

Hi we just purchased our 5 day hopper passes through the local base over the mail. It costs a lot even with discount & i am getting worried that we are going to get turned away at the gate. We leave in less then two weeks! My husband is retired but not with 20yrs. He also lost his ID, the replacement is not supposed to arrive until after we leave. He has DD214 papers & DL with Veteran. Is that sufficient to activate? Please clarify policy and what we need to do if we are no able to activate tickets at the gate. My children will be devastated! Should we order different tickets?

You'll need to check with Disney on that. My guess is you'll be fine.

Is this discount for disneyland or Disneyworld? We are going to Disneyland in a month and I still don't understand if we can get discounted tickets. My husband is an honorably discharged vet. 80% disability

Dad Answers

This is about Walt Disney World, but Disneyland also has a program.

If you are retired, yes. Just discharged, no.

Military tickets

My husband and I have military tickets but his separation date was pushed up 3 months so he was discharged before our planned trip. Will we still be able to use these tickets? He was honorably discharge. If so, what documentation do we need since they took his military ID when he out processed.

Dad Answers

You'll have to check with Disney on that.

Diivorced spouse with military id card

I was married to a NationalGuard member. We divorced and he is now retired. I have a military id. Do I have the privilege of discounted Disney World parks?

Dad Answers

The best I can do here is a maybe. Spouses are eligible but not when the member goes. Not sure about ex-spouses. You'll need to contact your local base ticket office for more information.

Veterans not qualified
by: Misty

From what I am reading veterans do not qualify for any kind of discounted ticket unless you are 100% disabled. Only active duty AND retired military get the discount.

Shades of Green sometimes has discounted tickets for veterans.

Eligibility for Military Discounts
by: dean

I went to http://www.militarydisneytips.com/Shades-of-Green/Shades-of-Green-Eligibility.html and it says you have to be a retiree or a 100% disabled honorably discharged military member to get the discount. Where have you found that non-disabled honorably discharged members qualify?
