Best Time to Visit WDW in 2015

When should you got to Walt Disney World this year? Dad knows.

Of course the best time to visit WDW is anytime you can, but what is the best time to visit WDW in 2015? Let's see.

Dad thinks the best time is ...

Yes, every year Dad puts out a list of his best weeks to be at our favorite vacation destination. Here is the list for 2015.

The Variables

There are several factors I consider when choosing the best time to visit WDW. First, you probably want to visit during periods of low to moderate crowds if you can. Being at Disney World just isn't as fun when you're standing in line all the time.

Next, price comes in to play. But, for the most part, price at WDW is tied to crowd size so we won't talk too much about it.

Then we have to think about the weather. I don't know about you, but I prefer comfortable temperatures not the sauna that is Florida in the summer. Finally we look at the events. Disney has some really great events during the year and if you can combine low crowds with great events you have a winner.

The Top 5 times to visit in 2015

So when is the best time to visit WDW in 2015? Let's look at Dad's top 5.

Let's start with a party

Number 5 - September - September is a great time to visit Walt Disney World. The crowds are really low in September. Our daughter honeymooned at WDW in September and the longest line they waited in was 10 minutes.

If you go toward the end of September you can go to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. Dad loves the parties in the Magic Kingdom.

There is only 1 drawback to September. The heat. It's hot. If you can stand the heat, then September is an awesome time to visit.

Number 4 - February (minus President's Day week) - February is one of the best times of the year crowd wise to visit Walt Disney World. Crowds are low all month except for Presidents Day week.

Presidents Day week is crazy. It's in the top 10 busiest weeks of the year. Avoid that week.

Actually you could extend this all the way back to January 23 and all the way through March 6. There aren't any extras during this time, but the crowds are really low and the weather is ususlly really nice.

Number 3 - May - from April 19 to June 6, including the whole month of May is just about the best time to be at WDW. Crowds are low, the weather is really nice and the Flower and Garden Festival is in full swing at Epcot.

It just doesn't get much better than that.

Number 2 - mid-November - the middle 2 weeks of November are prime weeks to visit Walt Disney World. November overall is a great time to visit, but the middle 2 weeks have the lowest crowds.

The first week of November is really hard to judge. For several years it's been on Dad's top 5 list, but last year the crowds were really big that week so this year it fell off the list and was replaced by the middle 2 weeks of November.

You will miss the transition from Halloween to Christmas, but you'll get to see all the Christmas decorations go up. It's just the most wonderful time of the year.

Number 1 - December - I was just going to pick one week out of the month of December. If I had to pick one it would be the week of December 13-19. In fact, Dad will be there part of that week.

The month of December brings the years biggest crowds. Starting December 20 crowds will grow every day until the busiest day of the year, which is Christmas Day. The week between Christmas and New Years is the busiest of the year.

So, Dad, why the whole month of December? Why not just the slow weeks. There really is something special about spending Christmas at WDW. Even with all the crowds. Disney goes all out to bring holiday cheer to eveyone during that time.

If you can't go during one of the slow weeks, it's OK to go during Christmas Week. Just know that the crowds will be nuts and be sure to follow our tips for avoiding crowds. Enjoy the season.
