Hi! We’re going to take our Disney-crazy son to WDW in November for a birthday celebration at Walt Disney World for his 9th birthday. We will be there on his actual birthday. I was wondering what you could suggest to make it special, and if you are aware of any little-known extra things Disney does to make a kid’s birthday memorable.
We have already scheduled the character breakfast at Chef Mickey’s and are splurging and staying in the Polynesian. He LOVES Donald Duck and has never gotten to meet him in our past visits. Any suggestions are helpful. Thank you so much!! Great website — I have told others about it!
Dad’s party like it’s 1999 Answer
Hi, Amy. Thanks for sharing Dad with others. (The more the merrier.)
Wow, The Polynesian and Chef Mickey’s for the birthday. Sounds like a grand time. You should see Donald at Chef Mickey’s. He’s usually there. If you don’t see him there, you can usually find him at Camp Minnie Mickey in Animal Kingdom, or at the character gathering place in Epcot.
Now, something special for the birthday boy. On most weekdays, Disney puts on what’s called a Pirate Adventure. It’s a 2 hour cruise around Seven Seas Lagoon from the Grand Floridian. It leaves at 9:30. Kids dress up like pirates and go on a treasure hunt. It sounds like just the thing for a 9 year old boy.
