"My family does not use credit or debit cards by choice. We have paid for our upcoming trip completely with Disney gift cards. Will we be able to stay at our hotel without cards?"

Lisa, yes, no, maybe. No, yeah, yes you can. In fact, I've done this before. You do not have to have a credit card on file to check in. Now, most hotels require that, but most hotels it's because you have a balance that's got to be paid and they want to be insured that they get their money.

If you have a balance left, if you just did a room only package or you just did the one day discount, doesn't sound like you said it's already paid for, so if you did a room only, you would have to pay the balance at check in, but even then you can use cash or gift cards.

So no, you don't have to have a credit card. You could even set up charging privileges by paying cash (or gift cards). You could leave $500 cash with Disney and set up charging privileges and that way you could put everything on your MagicBands. I'm more of the just pay it out of my pocket, I never have charging privileges on our room. Don't need it.

Dad's Bottom Line

The bottom line is you don't have to have a credit card to check into your room at a Disney hotel.
