We have decided we are going to stick to our December 17-22 plan. Crowds, yes we expect large ones, but we are going with a plan in mind, a good attitude, and patience. I have even made out a schedule, not that we will be able to stick to it exactly as it is, but I have decided what days we will go where, times of shows and parades, reserved meals at certain times to fit around things we want to see. One of the things we want to see is Mickey’s Christmas Parade, which will run during regular park hours after the last MVMCP on December 19th.
We have reservations for Tony’s Town Square for lunch on December 21 at 1:00, and the parade starts at 3. Will that give us enough time to get out of there and get a spot to see the parade, or should I call and try to move the time earlier, between 12:30-12:45? How much time do we need to allow to get a good spot for the parade, this time of year? It is just me, my husband and our 4 year old son. Thanks.

Good to hear from you again. I think you’ll happy you didn’t change your reservations, and crowds won’t be as big as you are imagining.
Now about the Christmas Parade and Tony’s Town Square meal. If it were me … (of course you aren’t me, but you asked my opinion, so here I go) I’d probably push my lunch back to around 12:30. (I checked and it’s still available.) That way you have some time to eat then try to find a good spot for the parade.
Yes, 2 hours should be enough, but people tend to start lining up for the afternoon parade real early like. Especially the Christmas Parade. If you are hoping for a good spot on Main Street, you’ll need to stake it out about an hour before hand, and you’ll probably have to fight the late comers to keep it.
Thanks again for the question.
Let me know if there are any more, and be sure to let us know how the trip went.
