So I am an end January Disney kind of guy. My 6 year old son and I love the winter escape from Michigan. My question is, I am thinking about taking advantage of the bounce back, if it’s offered and booking a trip to do the MNSSHP for a long weekend leading into Columbus Day. What am I getting into crowd wise? How is October different from January at WDW?
Thank you for all of the helpful posts and answers to questions!”

What a great idea. I love the Bounceback offers and Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is awesome.
The other great thing about October is the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot. Yummy. There is a ton of great food all around the World Showcase.
October is one of the best times to enjoy Walt Disney World and everyone knows it.
Years ago, October was really a great time to visit crowd wise. It was nice and calm. Not so much any more.
October is BUSY!
October has become as busy and maybe busier than the summer months. Crowds are moderate to heavy every day and sometimes really heavy especially around that Colombus Day timeframe. Check out the crowd calendar.
It’s way busier than the quiet crowds for most of January. Most days in October are like the first week of January before the Christmas crowds leave.
Dad’s Bottom Line
The bottom line is yes, October has some fun events, but it’s a busy time crowd wise. Does that mean you shouldn’t go. NOT AT ALL. Go have fun. Enjoy a Columbus Day trip to Disney World. It’ll be busy but Fun. Who knows there might even be some Magic.
