Crowds in April 2011

by Jill

Hi Dad- I totally love your site...check it everyday! We are going to Disney World for the first time with our 3 kids April 17-23. On your site it shows yellow for some of these days and some red and brown. On, it has almost all of these days at 10 out of 10 (meaning very crowded). Why are you thinking that it won't be as busy as the other website? I must say I really hope you are right!

Dad's it's Dad's best guess Answer

Thanks for being such a loyal fan. Everyone should be required to visit Dad's site every day. I'm all for that.

This is one where I'm not sure I agree with the guys. They might be right, but if you look at the history of that week, it's not a busy week. Yes, I know that Sunday the 24th is Easter, but I don't foresee big crowds all week like they do.

The weekend will be packed. Maybe the week before will, maybe it won't. Just make sure to have a good plan and get to the parks early and even if the hoards that Touringplans predicts show up you'll be fine.

Dad's Bottom Line

Crowd prediction at Disney World is a very fickle thing. It's real hard to know what's going on. Take a look at the histories of April at and you'll know what I mean (yes, you'll need a subscription).

Oops, maybe Touring Plans is right

Disney announced today that from April 17-23 you can get a 25% discount at selected quick service dining locations inside the parks. Disney does this when they expect overflow crowds at the table service locations and they try to push diners toward the quick service locations.

This doesn't always mean big crowds, and the last time it happened was because of Free Dining and lots of guests booking table service dining.

If your going you can get a coupon for 25% off select table service dining here.

I'm not sure this means big crowds that week, but it just might. Dad might be wrong. What's this world coming to?
