Dates for 50th WDW Anniversary Celebration
(Atlanta, Ga USA)
"If I cannot make the exact anniversary date of Oct 1 2021 will the celebration for the 50th go thru 2022 or does it precede the October date?"
We Don't Know What We Don't Know
I can't wait for 2021 and the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World celebration. I think it's going to be a big yearlong festival of fun.
Yes, I said yearlong (maybe longer), but when that year starts and ends is anyone's guess. We just don't know what we don't know about the 50th Anniversary Celebration dates.
It could start anytime in 2021 and run as long as Disney wants.
My guess is the celebration will start around June 1st, or maybe April 1st and run through October or so 2022. But that's just a guess. Disneyland's 60th lasted almost 16 months. I figure WDW will do about that for their 50th.
I think a lot will have to do with Disney's crowd projections for 2021. The lower the crowds in the spring, the better chance the celebration will start in April or so.
We'll Know When We Know
When will we know the dates? I dunno. We'll know when we find out. (Tricked you.) My guess, again, is Disney will announce something about the beginning of the Celebration about 3 months before it begins. Yes, we'd all like a 6+ month warning, but Disney seems to like last minute surprises.
Sneak in a Trip
Why wait until 2021? That's a long time. Go ahead and sneak in a trip this year and go again in late 2021 or early 2022 and see what's changed in 2 years. It will be a bunch.
2020 packages will be available for booking in June. Give our partners at Destinations to Travel a shout and get started.
Dad's Bottom Line
Kristen, the bottom line is we just don't know anything about the 50th Anniversary celebration yet. We can guess about the dates and speculate, but it's just that. Guessing and speculation, but if history is any indication, the celebration will start a few months before October and last into 2022.
