Dining Reservations for a party of 9
"We have booked our trip for April 2019. We have a party of 9, and have selected the Disney Dining Plan. We really want to get a reservation at Cinderella's Royal Table. Will this restaurant be able to accommodate our party? Also, what are some good table service restaurants for large parties?"
Big Parties Don't Upset Us

There used to be a Burger King commercial that said, "hold the pickles, hold the lettuce, special orders don't upset us". That's kind of the motto of the restaurants at Walt Disney World.
You can pretty much make an Advanced Dining Reservation (ADR) for any number of people (up to 40 online but that many would rarely work) at any restaurant and it's not going to upset the system.
You won't find a lot of availability for larger parties, but the system will try.
A lot of the restaurants only have tables that seat 4, 6, or 8 at the maximum so your party may be broken up into several tables.
For example, Sci Fi Dine In
is one of our favorite places to eat. But the cars (you sit in cars to eat) mostly only seat 4 with a couple that seat 6, so on our last trip with the kids and spouses, 6 of us in all, we were divided into 2 cars.Crystal Palace
is another one where the tables don't really work for large parties. We had a group one time of 20 or so and were spread out over 5 different tables. Luckily there were all in the same area.
Cinderella's Royal Table does have tables that will seat larger parties or can be put together. I've seen groups of 10 or more sitting together in there so you should be alright.
Be sure you are trying to make your ADR right at the 180 day mark for any of the restaurants. Be ready at 6AM Eastern Time online to get started. A lot of restaurants, especially Cinderella's Royal Table, fill up quickly.
Some of the other restaurants that work well for large parties are -
- 'Ohana - not because it's my favorite, but 'Ohana is set up with huge tables for big groups. We had 16 one time and no problems. A big long table with room at the end for more, and there were 3 more big tables in the same area set up for groups
- The Biergarten - is all about sitting in families and groups. In fact, you'll probably be seated with someone else
- Chef Mickey's - a lot of the character buffets (but not all) have tables that can be put together for big groups and Chef Mickey's is probably the one that is best suited
Those are a few to get you started.
Dad's Bottom Line
The bottom line is you can make reservations for big groups at any of the Disney Restaurants. Sitting together might be a problem if that's important. Cinderella's Royal Table is one of the places that accommodates larger parties well.
