The All Star Sports Resort

The All Star Sports Resort is home to the least expensive rooms at Walt Disney World. It's one of the the Disney Value Resorts along with the All Star Movies, All Star Music, Pop Century and Art of Animation Resorts.

Dad's Disney Value Resorts page

Disney Value Resorts are know for big resorts with lots of comfortable rooms (small but nice). There are big icons, bold colors and fun. Lots of fun. Parking lots surround the room buildings. Room buildings are 3 stories tall and have big sayings on the top and cool icons all around.

Rooms are accessed from outdoors. There is a food court in the main building that gets really busy at mealtimes. Like the other Value Resorts crowds at the All Star Movies are part of the experience.

Guest Rooms

At the All Star Sports, you have choices of preferred or standard rooms (the difference is how close you are to the Stadium Hall). Most rooms have double beds, but selected rooms have king beds. The guest rooms at the all of the value resorts are pretty small. They measure 260 square feet, and there is not a lot of wasted space.

Guest buildings are grouped by the different sports. The sports are -

  • Football
  • Basketball
  • Surfing
  • Baseball
  • Tennis

The rooms at the Disney All Star Movies Resort are standard hotel rooms. They measure 260 sq. feet. They are very functional, but there is not any wasted space. These rooms are the same size as the Pop Century rooms. They are reasonably comfortable for a family of 4.

The interiors of the rooms are painted to match the decor of the building. Tile colors, borders and wall colors will change depending on the building you are assigned.

Number of guests per room

Disney rules allow 4 guests per room. You can add 1 infant that can sleep in a crib. If you have more than 2 adults, Disney charges a $10.00 per night per adult fee. (4 adults would be an extra $20.00 per night.

Money Saving Tip: If your family has more than 4, or you just want some extra space, reserve 2 rooms. Disney only requires one adult per room. You can request connecting rooms, there are lots of connecting rooms.

Two rooms would give you 520 square feet which is more space than any other regular room at Disney World. PLUS you would have two bathrooms. (If you have any females in your party, two bathrooms will come in handy.)

Dining

Like all the Value Resorts, the Disney All Star Sports Resort has a nice food court. Obviously, it's called End Zone. When you're on the way to the parks in the mornings, it's a good place to grab a bite or fill up your refillable cups in the evenings.

The eating area is large with lots of tables, but because of the size of the resort, but it's probably not as big as is should be during busy periods and finding a table can be a chore.

The center of the Disney All Star Sports Resort is Stadium Hall. It's the home of the End Zone, check-in and check-out and a nice arcade.

The All Star resorts have lots of things to keep you entertained as when you're not at the parks. The pools at the are all somewhat interesting.

Shopping

Sport Goofy's Gifts and Sundries in Stadium Hall is the shopping area. You can find All Star Sports Resort branded merchandise along with the usual Disney themed souvenirs.

Pools

The Sports Resort has two heated pools. Surfboard Bay which has a kiddie pool, and Grand Slam with a water-spurting Goofy.

Lifeguards are on duty from 9:00am until 10:00pm, and they dance during some of the music. It's quite a show. Join in.

The pools are a great place for kids to burn off that last burst of energy before going to bed. Our teenagers loved the freedom of getting away from the parents and going out to the pool, even after a full day in the parks. We parents loved the fact that we could walk out the door and look down and see the kids.

Everything else

Inside Stadium Hall there is a great arcade. There are lots of video games, prize winning games, and fun for the whole family. (We always give the kids some discretionary money and most of it ends up here.)

Outside of the Stadium Hall you'll find the Team Spirits Pool Bar where you can purchase snacks and drinks. (Open seasonally.)

Laundry

Disney being thoughtful has even made two laundry room available. Oddly enough, their next to the pools. Bring lots of quarters and a bathing suit.

Transportation

Getting around at Disney World, especially from the All Stars Resorts can be a chore. Dad always recommends a car at Disney World. Disney provides Luxury Motor Coach (bus) service to all the parks, water parks and Disney Springs.

PS. Disney now charges an overnight parking fee for guest parking cars at Disney hotels.

Location

The All Star Resorts are a little remote. It's not really close to any of the parks. The Animal Kingdom is the closest. Epcot, Disney Hollywood Studios and the Magic Kingdom are a fairly long bus ride.
