For family fun and relaxation, the Disney Beach Club Resort at Walt Disney World is the perfect place to anchor your vacation, especially if you are beach people. This Disney Deluxe resort is located on Crescent Lake with a huge beach. This is more than a hotel. It’s a hotel, a condo resort, a mini-water park and more all rolled into one.
The resort is designed to look like the those found in Martha’s Vineyard from the late 1800’s. Hard wood floors can be found throughout the resort. It’s also a sister resort (a twin sister) to the Yacht Club. The two resorts are connected by Stormalong Bay.

The Disney World Boardwalk
The Disney Beach Club Resort is located adjacent to Disney’s Boardwalk. The Boardwalk has a veritable plethora (I’ve always want to say that) of dining and entertainment options. It’s an easy walk from the Beach Club to the Boardwalk area. Some of the dining options in the Boardwalk are –
- Flying Fish Restaurant
- Big River Grille & Brewing Works
- Pizza Window
- ESPN Club
With views that overlook Crescent Lake, the gardens, grounds or lagoon all guestrooms, including the standard and Club level, are furnished with wicker furniture in a fun light green and warm salmon decor. Room amenities include a ceiling fan, cable television featuring the Disney channel plus DVD or DVD/VDR combination player, as well as a coffee maker and refrigerator.
Each room and suite features a double-sink vanity, whirlpool tub, plus hair dryers, make-up mirrors, ironing board and iron. Guests may request a rollaway bed or Pack-N-Play Playard, and Free Wi-Fi w.
Beach Club Villas
The Beach Club Villas are located behind the hotel. The 282 Villas are part of the Disney Vacation Club. There are studio, one and two bedroom villas available. The one and two bedroom villas have full kitchens. Studio rooms have a refrigerator and microwave. Rooms come with the standard amenities plus full kitchen service. Rooms are decorated in light pastel colors.
Breakfast and dinner buffets are featured at the Cape May Cafe where notable Disney characters help make mealtime special. Beaches and Cream is an old-fashioned soda fountain where you can grab a burger and fries or enjoy some really good ice cream treats. As with all resorts, room service is available 24 hours a day seven days a week.

Family fun activities at the resort range from boating, swimming, jogging and volleyball, as well as jogging and fishing.
- Crescent Lake, with its white sands and 25 acres of water provides room to run, play in the sand or watch the sun set, as the lights come on over the Boardwalk.
- Rent a pontoon or a Sea Ray Sea Raycer for a tour around the lake
- Located nearby is the Lafferty Place Arcade featuring all the latest video and classic arcade games.
- A jogging trail winds around Crescent Lake and passes five of the Disney and Epcot resorts.
- Take a stroll along Disney’s Boardwalk where families can enjoy live entertainment, food and shopping.
Stormalong Bay is a 3 acre pool that is almost a mini-water park. It’s located on the shore of Crescent Lake and connects the Beach Club and the Yacht Club. The pool area is sand bottomed. You can spend hours in the lazy river or just soak up the sun on the white sand beaches. This is the biggest pool area at Walt Disney World.
Getting around from the Beach Club is relatively easy. You can walk or take a water launch to Epcot (a short walk) and Disney Hollywood Studios (a long walk). Disney’s Luxury Motor Coaches (buses) will take you to the other parks.
It can be a real challenge to get to one of the other resorts. For example to get to the Animal Kingdom Lodge, you have to go to one of the theme parks and get a bus to the Lodge. This could take a while so if you have dining reservations at one of the great hotels restaurants, like Dad’s favorite, ‘Ohana, you’ll need to leave enough time.
The Disney Beach Club Resort is located in the Boardwalk area. It’s the first hotel you come to when you leave Epcot from the International Gate.

Dad’s Bottom Line
A stay at the Disney Beach Club Resort will be fun, exciting and enjoyable. The special children’s areas, activities and acres of clean beaches to explore are just a few of the many reasons to visit Disney’s resorts.
