Dad's Amazing 2018 Walt Disney World
Walt Disney World crowd patterns are changing. What will the crowds at WDW be like in 2018? Come see Dad's amazing 2018 Walt Disney World Crowd Calendars and find out!
Are you going to Walt Disney World? Great. I bet you wonder what the crowds will be like. Right? Everyone does. We don't like crowds at WDW.
Wouldn't it be cool to have magical Mickey powers that would make all the crowds go away? Sorry, no I don't have that power, but I do have the next best thing.
Dad's 2018 Walt Disney World Crowd Calendar
Now you can know what the crowds will be like every month. That way you will in the immortal words of Scar "Be Prepared".
I've even gone a step further and broken down the crowds every month so you can see exactly what the month will be like.
Walt Disney World Crowds Patterns - Warning
The crowd patterns at Walt Disney World have undergone a pretty substantial shift over the last couple of years. The new ticket price structure that was introduced in 2016 has had a major influence on crowd patterns. Slow times have become busy and historically busy times have slowed down. You'll see big differences in my predictions for 2018 over previous years.
Three... Two... One... Bang. That's how January starts. With a bang. Happy New Year! Then the Fun begins!
January is an interesting month for crowds at Walt Disney World. Crowds range from crazy (January 1) to slow (mid month) and just about everything in between.
New Years, the Walt Disney World Marathon and the Martin Luther King holiday are the big drawing cards for the month.
Even with those events, January is a good month to visit Walt Disney World!
February is one of those months where the crowd patterns have definitely changed. Until recently February was a "slow" month. Maybe the slowest month of the year.
Not any more. The first couple of weeks of February are still pretty slow, but then President's Day week hits and the crowds really ramp up and it stays busy right into the Spring Break season.
The new Epcot International Festival of the Arts was a big success in 2017 and was renewed for 2018.
March means Spring Break and Spring Break crowds. Boy are there a lot of Spring Break Crowd.
March brings the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. Flowers, Food and good music. Sign me up!
March is a beautiful time to visit Walt Disney World. A busy and beautiful time.
April showers bring May flowers...
I have no idea what that has to do with the crowds at WDW, but it sounded good at the time.
April is a very colorful month crowd wise. There are lots of pretty colors on the calendar.
April 2018 kicks off with both Spring Break and Easter Crowds. Then things quiet down some in the middle of the month. The Flower and Garden Festival continues in Epcot.
May has really become one of the nicest months of the year to visit Walt Disney World. For the most part crowds are low and the weather is really nice.
The Flower and Garden Festival wraps up in May which means the Garden Rocks concert series ends with a bang.
Walt Disney World in the spring. What could be better?
Hot town, summer in the city
Back of my neck getting dirty and gritty
Been down, isn't it a pity
Doesn't seem to be a shadow in the city
All around, people looking half dead
Walking on the sidewalk, hotter than a match head" - Summer in the City, The Lovin' Spoonful
Boy does Dad sing good.
June kicks off summer at Walt Disney World. The crowds grow. The temperatures rise. It's summer in the theme parks (not the city).
And yes, at night it's a different world. Just like the song says.
Boy have things changed in July. July used to be the busiest month of the year overall. Not so much any more. Yes, July has busy crowds, but not as bad as a couple of years ago.
The big event in July is the big July 4th celebrations. The Magic Kingdom fireworks show is legendary. All the parks except Animal Kingdom have special celebrations of Independence Day!
Oh, and the rest of the month is hot and busy!
August is the hottest month of the year at Walt Disney World (actually it ties with July but it seems like it's the hottest). It's also the end of the summer break for school kids and things really slow down crowd wise.
August goes from very busy to really slow almost overnight.
Lots of green in August. Green is good.
And then it happens. The slowest month of the year. Typically. In September everything slows down. the summer crowds go away and the fall gets started.
What a great time to go to Walt Disney World!
October is the Spookiest month at Walt Disney World. Just look at those Spooky colors.
Yes, Halloween dominates October with Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party wrapping up in the Magic Kingdom, but don't forget the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot. Not many do.
The crowds are pretty crazy in October too. It used to be a nice slow month, but not any more.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas every where you go.
There's a tree in the Grand Hotel.
One in the park as well...
I think Mr. Wilson must have been thinking about Walt Disney World when he wrote that song. (Yes, I know it was written before WDW was built.)
Christmas at Disney World starts in November and it's the best time of the year.
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party will get started along with all the great Christmas decorations, shows and parties.
The Epcot International Food and Wine Festical wraps up mid-month. And the crowds aren't bad in November for the most part.
"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times."
Boy is that true of December at Walt Disney World. December is my favorite time to go to WDW. I just love Christmas at Disney World, but...
Christmas week is CRAZY! Totally and completely out of control. The crowds Christmas week are scary.
But the first half of the month is pretty nice. Yes, the Pop Warner Cheerleader and Football Championships make the first full week busy, but not crazy busy.
There's just so much to see and do in December, it's my favorite time to visit.
