Disney World – Special Events – Concerts

I was walking through the park one day…

A long, long time ago, my wife (Mrs. Mom) and I (mostly me), unexpectedly came in to a little dough (thanks to a little Oklahoma windstorm), and decided it was time to take a break from the baby and take a flying trip to Disney World. So we ditched the kid with Grandma and off we went.

Our second evening, or so, we were walking through EPCOT when we saw a crowd gathered at the American Pavilion Music Stand (I don’t remember what it was called back then. It’s the America Gardens Theater now.) We decided to check out what was happening.

In a few minutes a band started playing, and none other than Toni Tennille came out and started singing. You have to understand, we’re old, we loved The Captain and Tennille. It really was a treat, especially when The Captain came out and joined Toni.

It was an hour and a half show. It was the highlight of our trip, and we didn’t even know about it. And above all…

We didn’t pay anything extra. It’s amazing some of the things Disney makes available just for coming to the parks.

Thanks Uncle Walt!
