Does Room Only Have the Same Benefits as Packages?

"Hi Dad, how are you? I have a question for you. I am looking into to booking a trip to WDW next May. If i choose to book a room only option, buy the tickets than link them. Will I have the option for the 60 day window for the FastPasses and MagicBands? Any info would be great, have a great day!'

Room Only vs. Package

Hi Amy, I'm very good, thank you (since I'm writing this from Orlando).

It doesn't matter how you book your Disney hotel. All Disney hotel reservation numbers, both Room Only and Package reservations are eligible for making 60 day FastPass reservations.

MagicBands are the same. Everyone with a Disney Hotel reservation gets a MagicBand. Now, if you live outside the US (Puerto Rico is part of the US), Disney will not ship your MagicBands in advance, but will have them available in your hotel when you arrive.

Dad's Bottom Line

Amy, you are all good to go. You will get MagicBands, and be able to make FastPasses at 60 days. No worries.

Tickets & Magic Bands
by: Florencia

Hi there! I will not be staying at a WDW hotel but I will buy tickets to the parks, are they automatically linked to my pre-existing Magic Bands? One more question, there is one person in our group that doesn’t have a Magic Band, if I buy the tickets online, do I get a card or something when I get to the parks? How does that work? Thanks

Dad Answers

When you buy the tickets, there will be a number on them and you can link them to your My Disney Experience account. That will link them to your MagicBands. The person that doesn't have a MagicBand will get one of the old style plastic ticket.
