Easter Week 2020 crowds at Walt Disney World

Steve

Hi, Dad. I’ll be visiting Disney World this year in April (4th-11th) which happens to be the week before Easter. Ugh, i’m anticipating elevated crowd levels because of the holiday. Now I have also done some research regarding college spring break schedules. Luckily, only two colleges in the country are on spring back the exact dates of my visit. In your honest opinion, do you think the crowds during all of Easter week in 2020 will be unbearable? Or do you think it’ll be worse a couple of days before the holiday?

Thank you so much for your advice.

Hi Steve,

Traditionally, Easter is the end of the spring break season. From the beginning of March through Easter Monday, crowds are heavy almost every day. I think it will be the same for Easter week in 2020. Take a look.

Red – Out of Control * Orange – Heavy * Blue – Moderate * Green – light

While crowds won’t be totally out of control, they will be heavy that week. Expect 60 minute or more waits on most rides. All week. It might be a little slower mid-week, but it won’t be a big difference. Easter week aways a busy crowd week.

How to Avoid the Crowds

Don’t lose heart, Steve. There are ways to deal with for avoiding crowds at Disney World, even the week of Easter. Here are Dad’s top 10 tips.

The Azalea Trail Maids are very colorful in the Easter Day Parade at the Magic Kingdom and will be back Easter Week 2020

Easter is a holiday that Disney celebrates more than some of the others. There’s a neat parade in the Magic Kingdom that includes the Azelea Trail Maids who are a group of High School students who dress up in colorful dresses and dance through the Magic Kingdom. Usually Mr. & Mrs. Easter Bunny, Thumper, White Rabbit, Yellow Rabbit, Clara Cluck, Hippos, Ostriches, Dancing Chicks and even Daisy Duck are in the parade.

EPCOT has a game day with an Easter Egg Hunts, games like Basket Toss, Egg Relays and more. There are special Easter treats in all the parks and Disney Springs that look amazing. I just saw some of them from years past and I’m hungry.

Dad’s Bottom Line

Steve, I’m sorry to say that Easter Week 2020 crowds will be heavy. Not crazy busy, but heavy. Use Dad’s 10 tips, especially riding the busy rides first and using FastPass and you’ll be able to handle it.
