“I heard from a Disney YouTube video that you can make a Fastpass reservation on the day you plan to attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party between the hours of 4pm till 7pm. Is this correct?

We are not planning to use or multi day pass to go into the parks the day of the party.”

Steven. Let’s put it this way. Yes, you can make FastPass reservations for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Day between 4:00 and 6:00pm. Some days it’s 7:00 but it’s typically between 4:00 and 6:00pm. But, you might not want to. Let me explain.

The Problem

A lot of people are having problems with doing this. The problem lies is you can only do this if you have a ticket, a regular ticket, not a party ticket. Party tickets do not allow you to get access to FastPass.

if you’re using your Party ticket that day, only your party ticket, the system’s going think you’re using one of your regular tickets that day when you try to make FastPass+ reservations. It doesn’t know when you’re going to the parks when you go to make your FastPass reservations.

When you go to make FastPass reservations, and say the party is in the middle of your week and you go ahead and make the reservations. The FastPass system is gonna say, okay, you just used a regular ticket day, ’cause you’re making FastPass reservations.

Then, when you go to make the last day of FastPass reservations, the system is gonna say you don’t have any more days available because you used a “FastPass day” on your party day. You can only make FastPass reservations using regular day tickets.

Does that make sense?

Dad’s Bottom Line

The bottom line is, yes, you can do it but you’re going to lose a regular day of being able to make FastPasses. So, it just, basically you can do it. You can but you can’t.

Heya, going to MVMCP during Jersey Week, with 2 other days in park, with party in the middle of them, not going to MK during that day prior to. Rep said to book the two normal days of fast passes first, then book fast passes from the start of the party onward, not during early entry, but once the party starts at 7 PM. They said you can’t get fast passes before 7 PM with the special event ticket. That’s the info received as of today 4/8/19.

PS- Thanks for the great site, helped us plan our trip last month (first for our tiny tots and first for us in 15+ years) with great success!

Unless something has changed this year, FastPass is not available at either Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

We were able to make FP reservations for 2 days, and we hold one MVMCP ticket and also a one day ticket for EPCOT. But, we were able to secure FP for both days. Wondering if when we use the FP ON THURSDAY party day, if it will get rid of Friday FP?

Dad Answers

Yes, you will. Any time you make a FastPass reservation it takes a day of a regular ticket. If you have a 2 day ticket and make a FP on a MVMCP day it will take the place of one of your regular days.

We went to the last MVMCP in 2017. We did not have a park ticket for that day or any other day. We purchased the ticket over the phone and linked it to our My Disney Experience. We had no other tickets. We were able to get a Fastpass for 3:30, 4:30 and 5:30. I don’t know if it was just a fluke or not but we were able to do it and they worked fine.
