Well, Dad was WRONG! (Very sad emoji) For month’s I’ve been saying Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge would open on November 22, 2019. It’s not. But the GOOD news is, it’s opening on…

August 29, 2019!

Galaxy's Edge

Dad can’t wait to visit Galaxy’s Edge! Concept art courtesy of Disney.

There’s a LOT of info to take in about WDW’s biggest an most anticipated new land, and Dad will be sharing all those details with you before, during, and after the opening. What you need to know is there are two rides, a bunch of shops and dining, and crowds are going to be… well… crazier than a night on Coruscant.

Your best bet to see Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge as soon as possible is to get in touch with Dad’s pals at Destinations to Travel to get your room or package booked for later this year (or get a head start on a room booking for 2020, you can add tickets later when they’re available later this summer). Go on, and tell ’em Dad sent you.

My wife and I are taking our kids and grandkids for a trip the week prior to Galaxy Edge opening. 8/17-8/23. We have taken our kids 5 times over the years, but this will be the first in a while, and fortunately now with grand children. What do you think the chances are that they will have some of Galaxy Edge available prior to 8/29

Mar 08, 2019 Not a Star Wars Fan…

Trip scheduled for 9/14-9/21 and like many others, planned this to avoid Star Wars opening. My only reason for visiting HS is Toy Story land. More specifically, purchasing Early Morning Magic tickets to Toy Story land…they have not posted any EMM dates into September. In your opinion will they discontinue this event due to Star Wars opening? Or would Toy Story land actually benefit from this by being less crowded?

We are going with three small kids September 21-28. We were hoping to go before the Star Wars drama. Planning on spending most of our time at Magic Kingdom with the littles. How bad do you think crowds will be at the other parks? Should we consider rescheduling?

I had 9/7 – 9/11 already booked at beach club with free Disney dining and wanted no part of Star Wars. We booked the timing of this trip (our first with kids) to go during a quieter time and now we are smack in the middle of everything. Honestly thinking about cancelling.

I’ve made our reservations for a little while after opening date, so the few bugs are worked out and the second part is also open too!
