Is it worth the money to get a Magic Kingdom view?

by Tracy

(Ontario, Canada)

We are leaving for WDW in 35 days and we currently have reservations for a lagoon view room at the Polynesian Resort. Do you think I should splurge and spend some more money and get a MK view room?

I know several people that have had upgrades when they check in….I’m not sure what to do. What I can tell you is that its my husband and kids first time visiting WDW (I have been there too many to count) and I want my husband to be blown away.

Thanks so much for any advice.

Dad’s Mind Blowing Answer

Tracy,

There is no more mind blowing experience at Walt Disney World than a Polynesian Resort Magic Kingdom view.

If you can afford it, by all means you should upgrade. Your chances of being upgraded at the hotel are pretty small, especially if your lagoon view isn’t on the concierge level.

The way to get an upgrade is to ask for it when you check in. All that can happen is the nice people at the front desk will laugh in your face and say, “you’ve got to be kidding.” (The really don’t do that, they kindly say “no” and move on.)

Dad’s Bottom Line

The Polynesian Resort (in Dad’s opinion) is the best hotel in Disney World and the Magic Kingdom views are the best rooms at the Polynesian.
