Is the Week Before Thanksgiving Still Good?

Is the Week Before Thanksgiving Still Good?

"Dad,

Please help! We've planned our honeymoon for November 17th-23rd 2019 hoping to miss the opening of Galaxy's Edge boy did we miss the mark on that front. Should we stay true to our original dates or start switching things up? Any input would be greatly appreciated, we want to make the most of our special trip "home"."

I Still Think That's a Good Week

Hi Chris, you know what?

YOU'RE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!

And for your honeymoon. How cool. Mrs. Mom and I did that for our honeymoon too. It's the perfect way to start a marriage.

So about that week before Thanksgiving. I think that's just about the best time to go in the fall. And the opening of Galaxy's Edge in August didn't change my opinion of that week at all.

Dad's November Disney World Crowds page

I think that will be a "slowish" time crowd wise. The only thing that could change that would be if Phase 2 of Galaxy's Edge opens before November 22nd (my prediction).

What will it cost to change

The other thing to consider is what it would cost to change dates. There have been several price increases lately and unless you just booked the trip it will probably cost considerably more to change dates.

I'm all for saving that money and sticking with the original plan.

Discounts are coming

That being said, we are hearing rumors that some yummy discounts are coming very soon that might be worth looking at. These will probably be for travel before August 29th.

I'd check with Destinations to Travel and see if there might be an alternative that makes sense.

Dad's Bottom Line

Chris, I hope you have as much fun as we did on our honeymoon at Disney World. It's something we'll never forget. Don't fret too much about changing dates. You chose wisely. I don't think there's a much better week to go after August 29th.
