Is Wilderness Lodge Nice Enough For A Self Proclaimed Hotel Snob?
by Lindsey Price
(The Woodlands, TX, USA)
Ok so I admit I am a major hotel snob… not proud of it really but I am… so there! That being said, what are the best deluxe options for someone like myself? Hubby and I are heading to Walt Disney World January 6-11 with our 5 year old son and currently have reservations at Wilderness Lodge but a little nervous!
Dad’s Capital D Deluxe Answer
The Walt Disney World Deluxe Resorts are truly luxurious. Each of the 8 Deluxe Resorts have their own unique theme, and while the specific activities and services available at each one differ, they share the same outstanding amenities, impeccable service, and unparalleled attention to detail you’d expect from Disney (especially at such a high price point). Disney Wilderness Lodge is no exception!
Make no doubt about it, Disney Wilderness Lodge is a Deluxe Resort with a capital D! It is one of the most beautiful hotels, anywhere, and it will make you feel like you’ve been transported clear across the country to the majestic Northwest. It’s rustic, romantic, and worth visiting even when you’re not staying there!
From the 8-story lobby with a huge fireplace and real totem poles, to the bubbling hot spring that flows outside over a waterfall into the pool and the geyser that shoots 120 feet into the air, this is truly the place where Disney magic meets mother nature. Disney Wilderness Lodge also has some of the most beautiful rooms at Walt Disney World – not as spacious as some of the other Deluxe Resorts, but plenty comfortable for a family of four.
If it’s amenities, services, and activities you’re concerned about, check those worries at the door! This resort has shopping, an arcade, bike rentals, and a fantastic pool. It’s also situated right on Bay Lake so you can rent a boat from the marina, go fishing, or take a boat over to Fort Wilderness for even more outdoor fun!
If all those activities have you working up an appetite, you can grab a bite to eat at Whispering Canyon Cafe (a lively interactive dining experience for the whole family), Artist Point (perfect for a romantic date night), or Roaring Forks (a great quick service location that features special Mickey waffle toppings at breakfast that are not available anywhere else at Walt Disney World!).
