Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple is an exciting, interactive experience for kids at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Get your cameras out, Moms and Dads, because you’re not going to want to forget this!
If your child loves Star Wars as much as Dad does, this is going to be a must-do for them! It’s free with park admission, but you do have to sign up for a spot and they go fast.
Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple is limited to guests between 4-12 years old. There are many shows thoughout the ay and your child will be assigned a spot for a specific show time. While this activity is included in your park admission, spots are limited so you need to follow Dad’s advice and get to the parks early!
You can register as soon as the park opens, at the Outpost between the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular and 50’s Prime Time Cafe. You’ll want to arrive at the park no later than rope-drop (the official park opening) and as must as 30-60 minutes early, depending on the level of meltdown you anticipate if you can’t secure a spot for your child.
All participants must be present for registration, so that means Mom can’t head to the park early while the kids sleep in, or Dad can’t run off to sign up while everyone enjoys breakfast somewhere. Registering takes only a few minutes and then you’ll be on your way to enjoy the rest of your day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
After you register you’ll be given the information on when and where to bring your child for their show time. Parents will be sent to the viewing area while kids go backstage to get a Padawan robe and a lightsaber. Then it’s showtime!
Whether you’re the parent of a Youngling performing in the show, or just a passerby, this is a fun show to watch.
The kids all come out in their robes and are separated onto two staggered platforms. They’ll recieve instruction in proper lighsaber usage and learn to harness the power of the Light Side of the force.
Eventually, Darth Vader and another Star Wars villan (usually someone from the television series) come out to “battle” the kids one on one, then the Younglings band together to defeat them using The Force. Everyone claps and the stage gets re-set for the next show.
The perfect postshow ritual would be to head into Star Tours: The Adventures Continue, or perhaps pick up a lightsaber to take home from Tatooine Traders?
Here is a great video that shows how the ride works.

If your kids love Star Wars, don’t miss this. Set an alarm – set two or three! – and wake the family up extra early to secure your spot.
