Magic Kingdom on MVMCP day or not?
by L (Wyoming)
L from Wyoming asks about crowds at The Magic Kingdom. She says
“We are visiting Walt Disney World November 16 through 19. Would Wednesday, November 16 or Friday, November 18 be a better day to visit Walt Disney World?” I’m sorry “Better day to visit The Magic Kingdom? We are not planning to attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.”
Well, L. This sounds like a real Simple question. It is, but it’s not. I know that sounds silly. It is, but it’s not. It’s a simple question in that there’s not all that much difference. It’s a hard question because there is a lot of difference.
I looked over at TouringPlans this week. I love using TouringPlans. When I’m looking at days of the week to see which one is the best, I look at Touring Plans. If you go to Touring Plans, I’m pulling it up right here. If you go to Touring Plans and you look at Wednesday, November 16, Magic Kingdom shows crowd level 6 out of 10. Not too bad, but it’s pretty busy, moderately busy.
If you go and look on Friday, now Friday the 18th, November 18. I’m sorry, the 19th. You were looking at Saturday. Well, you were looking at the 18th. Never mind. Okay, so, live again. If you’re looking at Friday, November 18th, the crowd levels at The Magic Kingdom are 4 out of 10, but that’s a Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party day.
The hours are shorter. You only have 8 to 7, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the 19th, I’m sorry, on the 18th, on Friday, where on Wednesday it is … come on … hit the button … it is 9:00 to 10:00 p.m. Those are the hours.
My suggestion is if you want to see the fireworks, if the parade and the fireworks are important to you, the nighttime parade, on Wednesday, there won’t be a nighttime parade. The fireworks in the evening … for so long they’ve had a nighttime parade and now they don’t, that’s just hard to believe. If the fireworks in the evening are important to you then yes, go on Wednesday.
If fireworks aren’t that important, Friday is a better day. The crowds will be lower, you’ve got the extra hour in the morning where you can get in early. That first hour in the morning, from before noon in the morning is prime, prime touring time. You get in at 8:00 a.m. instead of 9:00 a.m., great. That’s great. I would suggest you go on Friday unless you need to see the fireworks. If you need to see the fireworks, then you go on Wednesday.
Dad’s Bottom Line
All right. So, bottom line is, Dad’s bottom line is, Wednesday if you need to see the fireworks, Friday if you don’t.
