"Hi Dad! Myself and my children are going to Disney World for a week while my husband is at a conference in Orlando. Since he is required to stay at his conference hotel (not a Disney hotel) and has only our arrival day to be able to go to the parks with us, I didn't include him in our package. Instead, we just bought a one day park ticket for him. I forgot that would mean he would not be able to ride the Magical Express without a hotel reservation. I spoke to my TA and she said we could add him as a day guest at the airport and he would be put onto our reservation and would be able to ride with us to our resort.
I made the mistake of going online to a few forums and asked if anyone else had done this before and what their experience was and was basically tarred and feathered for even suggesting that this was a possibility. My TA said she has called and spoken to ME multiple times about this and has had other guests do it with no issues.
Are you aware of this? Do you know of anyone who has done this? I just don't want to get there and then having to waste our time trying to get transportation for him instead of getting to our hotel and dropping off our stuff as quickly as possible and heading to MK for our only day together.
If this does not work, do you think a Lyft/Uber is the best option?"

I think that's the right answer. I don't have any experience with it. Never tried it, but I believe that's the right answer. I believe you can go to Magical Express and register as a day guest and they'll take you to the parks, because your family with the reservation is there.
You can't just walk up and say, "I'm a day guest. I want to go Disney World." They won't do that, but if you're with a group that's already going, I believe that you can register as a day guest, and go. Even if you can't, if that doesn't work, you just use Uber or Lyft and you'll be there about the same time. It's really not a big deal. Yes. I would try the "go to Magical Express and register as a day guest.
