Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party on Dec. 20

We will be in Disney World December 11 to the 23rd of December and are on the fence for MVMCP (Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party). My question is the last party day is December 20th and we may get to see the fireworks and parade just after that. Will they have snow on Main Street after the 20th and is it worth attending the party on the 18th for less crowds.

Thank you. Abby”

It’s not the same

Oooh, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. I love it. It’s one of the best things Disney does during the Christmas Holiday season.

Dad’s Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party page

Going to a Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is all about the experience. The snow on Main Street. The cocoa and cookies (and other Christmasy snacks). Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade. Holiday Wishes (or whatever they call the fireworks show this year). All the special shows around the park. It’s just a great evening.

Yes, after the 20th, some of the elements of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party are repeated during the regular day. But it’s just not the same. Instead of the Once Upon a Christmastime Parade at night, it’s in the afternoon. It’s just not the same. The cocoa and cookies are gone. You might see snow, but the party atmosphere is missing.

And there are a LOT MORE PEOPLE!

The 18th would be better

I do think the 18th would be a better day. Both will probably sell out, but the 20th will see out for sure, being the last night. There may not be much crowd difference between the 18th and the 20th, but there will be a little.

Destinations to Travel

Dad’s Bottom Line

Abby, I think that Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is one of the things Disney does that should be experienced at least once. I know you’ll be able to see some of the party happenings after the 20th, but it’s just not the same.
