After being closed for the summer for refurbishment, Pirates of the Caribbean has reopened at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.

This original fan favorite received a facelift as well as some new additions. Amongst the restoration features you may notice include new paint and work on the Audio Animatronics. Each animatronic was actually rebuilt and given new costumes. The characters now appear more realistic – even Jack Sparrow and Captain Barbossa.
Special effects have also been added. These include new cannons and strobes for weather effects. Plus, there are some new smells throughout the attraction. I don’t know about you, but I think smells at certain attractions really add to the memory and experience of the attraction. (My favorite smells are at Soarin’ and Spaceship Earth. Where are yours?)
