Special dietary needs at Disney World

by Ludo

It’s me again. In order to plan perfectly my 10 guests party to Disney World I have a question about food.

When I went in 2007 I didn’t need to know, because we were two and eat everything, but I now have 2 vegetarians, 1 seafood allergic and 1 gluten allergic. Lots of special dietary needs for our Disney World trip.

Is every restaurants can accommodate this or not ? And when do I have to let them know ?

Thanks a lot again.

Dad’s you betcha Answer

Hello again. Thanks for the question. Disney does have some amazing restaurants and the also have some amazing chefs. They pride themselves on being able to satisfy almost any dietary restriction with just a little preparation.

You can now make dining reservations online (and you should) 180 days prior to your arrival. When you make the reservation, it says something like “I have a special request or a food allergy”. When you click on that, you can select from several options. Click on vegetarian and gluten free and seafood, and when you arrive at the Disney World restaurant, the manager (probably) will come to your table and talk about your menu options. In some of the restaurants, a chef will even come and cook your food right at your table.

Dad’s Bottom Line

Disney is great about special dietary needs at Disney World. Have a great time and don’t worry. Just make sure to remind your server and all will be fine.
