Star Wars Land Opening & Crowds?
"Good Evening Dad,
I am currently in the process of trying to decide when to head to WDW and Universal Studios (gasp) for my families next vacation. Late fall of 2019. We want to make sure my kids see WDW decorated for the Holidays primarily the Magic Kingdom.
Currently we are thinking that we would love to head down the 1st week of December or the week of Veterans Day. We are thinking of doing 3 or 4 days at Disney World. Any idea how Jersey Week or the possible Opening of Star Wars may impact deals and crowds and the crowd calendar. We are also a family of 5 and this severely limits our affordable choices.Additionally we were thinking of heading down the last day of November but are afraid to compete with the Thanksgiving travelers.
Thoughts...Is it better to head in the late winter months?
We live where it snows (a lot)so I am always worried about a blizzard ruining our departure.
Thank you for any input."
We don't know what we don't know

Predicting what's going to happen in late 2019 is really hard right now. We just don't know what we don't know. Meaning we don't know exactly when Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is going to open (although I think there's a big hint available) yet. That will be a BIG driver of crowds and discounts in November and December.
Let's start by talking about November.
It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like...

November means it time for the Christmas decorations to go up. It's my favorite time of the year. I love Christmas at Disney World.
But it also means it's time for crazy crowds. November ranges from light crowds to wall to wall crowds. November 2019 looks like it might be a little crazier that most Novembers because of the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.
Let's take a look at November...
Dad's November 2019 Crowd Calendar
You mentioned Jersey Week, that will be the first full week of November. That week will be busy, but not crazy. In fact, it might not be all that bad
Then comes Veterans Day week. I think this might be a really good week to go. Yes, Veterans Day weekend through Monday will be busy, but after that the crowds will Magically disappear and the rest of the week will be nice and quiet.
The low crowds will last right up through the middle of the week before Thanksgiving.
The Big Hint
The new Disney Ticket price calendar for November 2019
We are all wondering when Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will open. I think there's a big hint in the new Disney ticket price calendar.
Thanksgiving Day 2019 is November 28th. Look at the ticket prices the week before. See the big surge? That doesn't make any sense from a historical perspective. You'd expect a surge in crowds and prices over Thanksgiving weekend, but not before. Which leads me to believe...Star Wars Galaxy's Edge will open on November 21st or 22nd.
It's the only thing that makes sense with those ticket prices. If I'm right, the first half of November will be a lot slower crowds wise and a BUNCH of people will be arriving at WDW the week before Thanksgiving.
First week of December
Dad's December 2019 Crowd Calendar
You also asked about the first week in December. Historically, that week has been a light week. Over the last 2 or 3 years, it's moved up to the moderate category. I've got it moderate on my calendar, but I wouldn't be surprised there were a couple of nice slow days that week.
November or December
All of that background to say, if it were me, I'd probably go Veterans Day weekish. I'd probably try to arrive on Tuesday or Wednesday after Veterans Day if I were staying for a week.
The first week of December would be a great consolation prize. It won't be a bad choice.
Dad's Bottom Line
It's going to be very interesting next year. If you are a big Star Wars fan and don't want to miss Galaxy's Edge then go in December. For the best chance to miss the crowds and get a discount I'd pick early November. Any time before the 20th should be a good time to visit.
