“Hello! This will be my first WDW trip as a grown up! AKA- having to plan and actually be aware of stuff!

I am staying off site and am looking at going to Magic Kingdom on Friday 10/19. It is an Extra Magic Hours and Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party day. Not doing our party that day. I also have a reservation at Be Our Guest for 8:30.

In general for this trip, I have scheduled our days NOT being in the parks with EMH, but it will be our 2nd MK day. (first day being early admission to MNSSHP) How will this work for that? When will they let us in for our reservation?

Should I switch the day I am going to avoid crowds? My other option is to do Animal Kingdom on Friday and do MK on Thursday? I am just nervous about saving AK for last because it looks like a TON of walking and I don’t know if that one should be tackled after our rest day or if Friday would be ok for it. My son is looking forward to Everest SO much he wants me to re-arrange my schedule to do AK first!

Thank you! Hope you are having a great day!”

No need to change anything

First congratulations!

I know the first time planning a trip on your own can be pretty stressful, but it’s OK. Relax. You’re doing fine.

I think your PLAN is fine. You don’t need to change a thing. Let me explain.

Avoiding the Extra Magic Hours park is usually a really good plan for those staying offsite, but in this instance I don’t think it’s necessary. Let me explain.

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party days are usually the slowest days of the week at the Magic Kingdom. Extra Magic Hours doesn’t change that. Because the park closes at 6, most people avoid the MK that day.

I think you are going to find that crowds will be pretty low all day. I’d be surprised if they weren’t.

You’ve chosen wisely.

As to getting in early for Be Our Guest, yes, if you have a reservation (they have a list), they will let you in early. There is a separate line in the ticket area for early reservations. Just look around and find it. No problem.

Dad’s Bottom Line

The bottom line is you’re all set. Friday, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Day at the Magic Kingdom, will probably be the lightest day of crowds you see for the whole trip.

Relax and enjoy. YOU’RE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!
