The best day to visit the Magic Kingdom

"What is the best day of the week, Monday through Sunday, to visit the Magic Kingdom when there's not a holiday or any other event going on? I'm making dining reservations in a few days. I try to correlate where my family eats with what park we're in. Thank you. Desiree".

Hi, Desiree. Good question. There really is no best day. Any day is a good day to go to the Magic Kingdom. Right? You're at the Magic Kingdom. It's a great day to be at the Magic Kingdom.

However, some days are better than others. Now, for me to say that Tuesday is the best day to go to the Magic Kingdom, nah, not so much. There's really not one day of the week all the time that's the best day to go. It varies.

Like you said, depending on events, depending on the crowds, depending on the weather, depending on Extra Magic Hours. Everything kind of affects the crowd levels at the Magic Kingdom. A lot of people will tell you to go the day after Extra Magic Hours and, for the most part, that's a good rule of thumb, but it's not a set in stone best day to go.

What I do and what I would recommend, is look at TouringPlans and look at their crowd levels for each day of your trip and kind of plan your trip with their tools.

Touringplans does a great job. They're not always right about crowd levels, but none of us are always right about crowds. Things happen. But they do a great job of lining out which days are the best to be in each park.

Yes, crowd levels at the Magic Kingdom is important but know that when you go to make your ADRs, your dining reservations, but if there's a dining reservation you really want, say, Cinderella's Royal Table, Le Cellier, 'Ohana, those hard to get reservations. If you want any of those, then that's what you should book first and you move your trip around those.

You plan your days around your dining reservations... Yeah, it would be best if you could get them exactly on the days you want but sometimes that doesn't happen. Sometimes you have to move things around.

I sketch out the days the way I want them to be and then we go make our ADRs and, if we have to change, we have to change. When we went with the family a couple of years ago, we wanted to eat at Le Cellier and it wasn't available on the day we wanted., So, we had to move things around to get to eat at Le Cellier. Sometimes you have to change to get what you want.

Dad's Bottom Line

The bottom line is, every day is a great day to go to the Magic Kingdom. There is no Monday, Tuesday, Thursday... I can't tell you which day is the best to go because it changes all the time. Use Touring Plans and work with your dining reservations and you can pick what's best for your trip.
