Tortuga Tavern

El Pirata Y El Perico is now Tortuga Tavern as Adventureland continues it’s transformation into Pirates of the Caribbeanland. In the movies, the tavern is a grayish place where all kinds of unappealing looking pirate types gather and drink.

This restaurant is a bit more refined and colorful but still retains the flavor of the movie dive. There are still broken chairs in the balcony. (Would you expect anything less.)

Yo, Ho, Yo, Ho … Come and eat in the place where Capt’n Jack recruits his ruddy crew. Grab a grog of ale, wait, this is the Magic Kingdom so no ale … Grab a burrito, and a coke and get ready to pillage and plunder. Who came up with this idea?

The Menu

Below you’ll find the full menu for this restaurant –

  • Burritos – Chicken or beef filled with cilantro rice and black beans
  • Vegetarian Burrito- just the rice and beans
  • Taco Salad – Fried flour tortilla with lettuce, seasoned beef, cheese tomatoes, sour cream, onions and salsa.
  • Triple Chocolate Cake – Yummy.
  • Drinks

The children’s menu has –

  • Quesadillas – 2 flour tortillas filled with cheese
  • Peanut Butter and Jelly

Children’s meals come with grapes, carrot sticks and a choice of water, milk or apple juice.

Yep, that’s it. Nothing fancy here. Entree’s range from $5.49 to $7.99.

Magic Kingdom Dining

This is just one of the vastly upgraded restaurants in the Magic Kingdom. You can find a lot of good grub.

Dad’s Bottom Line

The Tavern in the Magic Kingdom may not exactly replicate the haunts of Captain Jack and his men, but it’s kinda cute and who knows, maybe now, this restaurant will be open. The old one never was. The decor is nice, the food, who knows?
