A new theater at Magic Kingdom. Situated on Main Street U.S.A. the new venue will be modeled after Willis Wood theater, a place located in Kansas City in the 1920’s. The location will be up and running in time for the 50th anniversary of Magic Kingdom. No word yet on the entertainment that will be showcased in the theater. ***This project has been canceled.
More Transportation Options! A rumor Dad addressed a few months ago has finally been confirmed. A gondola is coming to Walt Disney World. Disney Skyliner is a system reminiscent of the old Skyway found at Magic Kingdom. The Disney Skyliner will connect Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT International Gateway with Disney’s Art of Animation, Disney’s Pop Century, and Disney’s Caribbean Beach. Dad’s a little worried about what that will do to the prices of his favorite resort, Pop Century. No opening date has been announced yet. Another transportation option is Disney’s version of Uber. The “Minnie Vans” will take you anywhere you want to go on Disney property. Several vans are already up and running. Go ahead and book those early morning breakfast reservations; now you don’t have to worry how to get there. CLICK HERE FOR THE FULL STORY
A Star Wars Hotel?!? Soon, you will be able to become a part of Star Wars through a completely immersive hotel experience! Disney Imagineers are busy creating a luxury resort for Walt Disney World that will make you an active citizen of the galaxy. Can you imagine walking amongst Wookies and Ewoks as though you are lightyears away from Earth? No opening date was set, but Dad’s putting his money on 2019 when the new land is supposed to open. Speaking of the new land, it finally has a name: Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge! CLICK HERE FOR THE FULL STORY

Major EPCOT overhaul. In addition to a new restaurant, EPCOT is going to receive several new attractions. First, a Guardians of the Galaxy themed attraction is coming to Future World. This will be replacing Ellen’s Energy Adventure, which will close on August 13th. World Showcase will also be getting a new Ratatouille based attraction in the France Pavilion. In this adventure, guests will “shrink” to the size of a rat as they are chased throughout a restaurant. The time frame has this attraction opening by the 50th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort. The entrance to EPCOT is also expected to undergo a major transformation.
Tron attraction is coming to Magic Kingdom! Forget Space Mountain, this new attraction is worlds away from anything Magic Kingdom has seen. The attraction is already up and running in Shanghai Disneyland. To give you a little idea of what it is, imagine sitting on an illuminated faux motorbike and racing along and incredible track that is indoor and outdoor. No word in if the Magic Kingdom version will be identical to the one in Shanghai, but here’s hoping they don’t short-change the U.S. version. This amazing attraction is expected to open in time for the 50th Anniversary of Magic Kingdom.
The Great Movie Ride is closing! Dad hopes you planned before August 13th. At that time, the attraction will be closing for good to make way for a new adventure: Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. Guests will be placed into the world of a Mickey Mouse Cartoon Short with amazing special effects and a fun theme song. CLICK HERE FOR THE FULL STORY
