Viewing WIshes from the beach at the Polynesian

by Jenn

I would love to see Wishes from the beach at the Polynesian, but not staying there. We will be staying at Port Orleans. Is it easy to go to the beach from the park to see the fireworks, (boat?) then get a bus to our resort after? And would that be a faster trip back to Port Orleans than watching the fireworks from MK? Also how is the view from there, can you see the new show where they project pictures on the castle from there? Thanks!

Dad’s good plan but Answer

Viewing Wishes from the beach at the Polynesian Resort is one of Dad’s favorite things in the whole wide world. That being said, you will not save any time, and it may cost you some time to view the show from the beach.

To get to the Polynesian from the Magic Kingdom, you can take the Polynesian Launch, the resort monorail, or the ferry to the Transportation and Ticket Center (and walk over to the beach). The problem comes in when you need to go back to the Port Orleans. You’ll have to get back to the Magic Kingdom to catch the bus, or take a bus from the Polynesian to another park and then get on a bus to the Port Orleans. Either way this will take a while.

About seeing the new Memories show on the castle, you’ll be able to see it, but not see it. Yes, that makes no sense, what I mean is the Polynesian beach is about a mile from Cinderella Castle. That means fireworks look great, but you’ll be able to tell there are colors on the castle but not be able to make out any detail.

Viewing Wishes from the beach at the Polynesian is a great way to watch Wishes, but with the new show, it may not be the best way to spend the evening.
