Visiting the parks with a Cast Member ticket
Hi! My husband and I are visiting WDW the second week of December. His aunt is a Cast Member and will be getting us in with her gate pass. Is there any way to book FastPasses before we go, or will we just be able to do one at a time while we are in the park?
Also, must you wait to use the FastPass before getting another? At DLR you just have to wait two hours to get another one, even if your first pass has not been used (like if it's for later in the day). I haven't been to WDW in 30 years, so I am trying to get it all figure out!
It's Controlled by the Cast Member
You can get FastPasses with the Cast Member gate pass, but the Cast Member will have to set it all up. You can even book at the 60 day window if it's set up correctly. You'll need to work with the Cast Member who should know how the system works.
How FastPass+ Works
As to how FastPass+ (FP) works, when you make a FastPass reservation you are given a time window for the pass. It's typically a one hour window.
You can make your next FP reservation any time after the window closes. So say, you make a FP for 10:30 and the window is 10:30 to 11:30, you can make your next FP at 11:31.
You can make 3 FP reservations prior to arriving at Disney World. You do this through your My Disney Experience Account. You have to have tickets in your account to make FP reservations so you'll have to work with the Cast Member to get that set up.
If you are staying at a Disney Hotel you can make FP reservations 60 days prior to arrival. If you aren't staying at a Disney hotel it's 30 days.
After you use the first 3 FastPasses you can make more reservations at kiosks in the parks or by using the Disney World app.
You can also make reservations in the park once your park tickets have been activated via the app or at a kiosk if you don't make them in advance.

Dad's Bottom Line
The bottom line is you will be able to use FastPass just like everyone else but the Cast Member will have to help you set up your reservation if you want to make FP reservations in advance.
