“I was just wondering at what time of year the hotels are the cheapest price? Thank you!”

Okay Laura, this is one of those questions I like to let our partners at Destinations to Travel give us an answer for. So here we go:

“There are a couple of times a year where Disney Resort rates drop. mid-January through mid-February and then again late August and September.

As a word of caution, there are reasons these time frames are cheaper. January and February rates tend to be lower as this is a popular time for rides and attractions to be refurbished do to low park attendance. That means increased closings. Late August and September tend to have lower resort costs and even promotions enticing visitors, but this is an extremely hot time of year and is in peak hurricane season.

As you plan your vacation you will need to consider if obtaining a lower rate is a fair trade off for any of these potential issues.”

And Dad agrees with that. Mid-January into mid-February (from the week after Martin Luther King’s birthday through right before President’s day) – that is the cheapest time of year. If you go in September, you want to book before February because usually in February there’s a price increase.

Dad’s Destinations to Travel Page

NEWS FLASH! For all of you planning a Disney World vacation this year, the prices are going to go up in February. How do I know that? They did last year. Now it may be later in the year, you never know. It might be tomorrow, but my deepest opinion is that prices will go up in February. If you book today, if you book before the price increase you will only pay the price today. So book your trip today. August through all of September is the second low season of the year – for prices AND crowds.

Dad’s Bottom Line

The bottom line is, whenever you plan to visit – book your trip TODAY and lock in a lower rate, because I guarantee you, prices are going up.
