Where does the Walt Disney World Monorail Stop?

by Peggy
(Nova Scotia)

2nd trip in 3 1/2 weeks. Just wondering if you could tell me do both of the Disney World Monorails stop at the Transportation and Ticket Center? Also could you just simplify things for me and tell me exactly where each of the 2 monorails stop? Would like to do a little resort hopping while there this year especially with the Christmas Decorations. We will be at Pop Century Nov. 12 to the 19th.
Thanks a lot….love your site!

Dad’s I love the monorail Answer

First let me say the Disney World Monorail is one of my favorite attractions at Disney World. Yes, I know, it’s designed to be transportation but it is part of the show. It’s one of the things that sets Walt Disney World apart from all the other run of the mill theme parks.

So, on to your questions …

If you go to my monorail page, click the link above, go ahead, I’ll wait …

OK, now that your back, you probably have all the answers to your questions, but for good measure I’ll answer them here. First, both of the loops on the Magic Kingdom Monorail stop at the Transportation and Ticket Center and at the Magic Kingdom.

The Resort Monorail goes in a loop from the Transportation and Ticket Center to the Polynesian Resort to the Grand Floridian the Magic Kingdom then to the Contemporary Resort ending back at the Transportation and Ticket Center.

The Express Monorail goes in the opposite direction, through the Contemporary Resort stopping at the Magic Kingdom back through the Grand Floridian and the Polynesian Resort ending at the Transportation and Ticket Center.

The EPCOT Monorail goes to EPCOT. (Duh.) Then back to the Transportation and Ticket Center.

Dad’s Bottom Line

Peggy, to do some resort hopping to see the Christmas Decorations (one of Dad’s favorite Christmas at Disney World things), take the Resort Monorail to each of the Monorail Hotels. It will stop at all 3.

by: Anonymous I found this page, because, like the original question asker, I was trying to find out *exactly* where the monorail stops.

You can reread the question if you don’t believe that the word “exactly” appears within it.

The Magic Kingdom is quite big, so saying “it stops at the Magic Kingdom” says NOTHING. Does it stop in the park? Just outside the park? Is there a considerable amount of walking that needs to be done to get to the park entrance or is it right there?

A bunch of websites will tell you that it stops in the MK. That wasn’t what this question asked.

It exactly stops about 150 feet in front of the main gate of the Magic Kingdom. You will have to walk down a ramp then up the hill to the gate.

Oct 30, 2011 See you on the Monorail..
by: Kurt Will be there the same days Peggy, and thinking the same about touring the decorations. We are planning to break up the day we are going to EPCOT to do our touring. We’ll go in the morning and catch some rides.. and around lunch well hop on the monorail and make the rounds grabbing a quick service lunch somewhere along the way. Then back to EPCOT for afternoon around the worlds and the best fireworks in the world!!
